WINERY HISTORY
In 1979, at the age of 73, Amado Paredes decided to give a new twist to his activities and bought a farm in the town of Rengo. And now, after much time, effort and dedication, it has become one of the top wineries in the Cachapoal Valley.
Along with its deep family roots in the area, the winery is propelled by a solid staff of agronomists, winemakers and others oriented toward the production of top quality wines.
Located within the Central Valley are the upper reaches of the Cachapoal Valley, one of Chile’s historic win growing valleys. In this valley lies the town of Rengo that is protected by the mountain range that creates an area cooler and more arid than the rest of the valley. The Torreón de Paredes vineyard built on alluvial soil, is situated in the heart of this and is flanked by the mighty Andes, which not only provi - des a stunning bac- drop toour winery, but also creates the dramatic contrasts between day and night temperatures which result in richer, juicier grapes.
WINE MAKING PROCESSES
The grapes for our Reserva collection are harvested by hand in select estate vineyards. The Andean foothills climate and soils of the Alto Cachapoal Valley award each variety singular attributes of elegance and essence. The wines are traditionally aged in French and American oak barrels. This line of wines includes: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Merlot, Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.
