WINERY HISTORY

Marquis de Terme’story begins in 1762, when Miss Ledoux d’Emplet, wife of Francois de Peguilhan Marquis de Terme, giving him as a dowry the estate which will hencforth bear his name.

The celebrity of this wine was initiated by Thomas Jefferson in 1787. In the process of becoming from the United States, he makes a visit to Bordeaux and classifies the Château Marquis de Terme among the sixteen best wines that have been given him to taste.

The property reaches the rank of Grand Cru classified in 1855. A great Classified Growth on a human scale , which expresses its modernity in the respect of the tradition.

WINE MAKING PROCESSES

The grapes were harvested from the vines under 25 years old. Once grapes were picked, they were taken to winery and made up the winemaking process same as Grand Cru process.
